The absolute best time of day at Maya is 6 a.m. It is beginning to get light. Roosters and bulbuls are talking of morning. The tiny sunbirds perch on the orange flowers slurping nectar. Gunung Agung is often clear and otherworldly. The air is cool. The light is warm.
