Villa Maya is embedded in a complex ecosystem of rice paddies and jungle where the Balinese farmers and many creatures have coexisted for centuries. Villa Maya is siutated on a small piece of land, but has an impressive number of birds, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians and plants that call this small piece of our planet home.
None of the creatures that live here or visit are dangerous, and we hope you will be delighted when you spot a yellow sided skink or notice the small munia birds visiting to have a bath at the pool edge.
How many of these species can you spot in your time at Maya?

- Yellow Sided Skinks
- Green Anole
- Long tail grass lizards.

Amphibians
Tree frogs are often heard in the rice paddies and sometimes found near the Koi pond or croaking from the the foliage.
