Villa Maya Ubud

House Info

  1. WATER: The hot water is VERY hot. Be careful when turning on the shower. It takes a long time to get hot and then suddenly it is scalding.
  2. COOLING : Both bedrooms are air-conditioned and have overhead fans. Some people prefer one or the other or both. Controls for the fan are on the side of the bed and the A/C control is mounted on the wall below the air conditioner. The overhead fan keeps the sitting area in the living room cool and there is also a standing fan that is often used to refresh the dining area, and can be moved wherever needed.

3. RAIN: Most of the time the rain is not a problem and it brings welcome coolness. However, if there are heavy down pours accompanied by winds the water will blow into the verandahs. Put down the bamboo blinds to keep things somewhat dry. Be careful as the marble tiles get very SLIPPERY! Squeegies are hanging on the back of the bathroom doors if you need to remove puddles from the patios.

4. What to bring with you. Villa Maya is well equipped with nearly everything you need to have a relaxing holiday, but make sure you pack the following items:

  • bathing suit
  • sunscreen
  • small travelling umbrella (Maya has big umbrellas for walking nearby, but it is useful to have a small umbrella to take with you on outings for both rain and sun).
  • insect repellant (not a lot of bugs, but sometimes in the rainy season there are a few mozzies in the evening. The fans help keep them away as well).
  • water bottle – there is a water dispenser with hot and cold water. Bring a bottle to refill for outings.
  • European style plug adaptors.
